Meet the Founder.
Julia Powers is the founder of J.Powers Studio, a New York–based life styling and creative direction practice.

Trained in fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, with further study at Polimoda in Florence, her foundation is rooted in proportion, material integrity, and restraint. Texture remains central to her lens — the discipline of layering tone and surface to create depth without excess.

Her work extends beyond garment into space. After relocating to Brooklyn, she developed a lasting appreciation for traditional brownstone architecture and preservation — original mantels, mahogany doors, architectural continuity. She values stewardship over novelty and believes detail carries cultural weight.

Before founding the studio, Julia worked across luxury fashion and celebrity PR, where she refined her understanding of image, discretion, and strategic positioning. She approaches creative direction with both aesthetic precision and relational intelligence — aligning private and public presence with clarity.

Lighting, scale, and proportion are constants in her work. Art should hold its space. Glassware should feel intentional. A room should unfold in rhythm.

Her philosophy is simple: life is most powerful when approached holistically. Wardrobe, interiors, gatherings, travel, and routine are not separate categories — they form a single visual and lived language.

Refinement is not accumulation.

It is alignment.
